Since its inception in 2008, the Masimong Foundation has ensured the annual return of the Fred Habedi School Academic Awards. This awards ceremony rewards learners who have performed excellently in their academic work and acknowledges the best readers within the school. The highest achievers and winners of these categories received Woolworths vouchers, which they could use to buy something special for themselves, and all learners of the school received McDonald’s Happy Meals. We aim to make these awards ceremonies an experience where learning and education are celebrated, and where no child feels put down but rather where learners feel inspired by one another in a supportive environment that enable them to work harder to achieve their goals.
