At the beginning of 2023, we decided to expand our reading programme to three primary schools in KwaThema in Gorogang Primary School, Sakhelwe Primary School, and Tsimong Primary School. The purpose of this programme is to introduce a culture of reading amongst learners, while encouraging and inspiring them to actively want to read more books. An integral part of our reading programme in these schools is our reading competition, where learners between grade 4 to 7 compete against the other schools to showcase their abilities by answering questions based off the books they were given to read. We believe that this is a way to recognise young talent, impart a competitive spirit, and inspire a passion for reading. We believe that by working together with parents and educators, we can help our young students gain valuable reading and comprehension skills, which will positively impact their futures.
