Our School Reading Competition programme began as an opportunity for learners from different schools to compete against one another in teams for the chance to win a grand prize for their school. The finals for this competition were held on the 29th of September, where the teams competed against each other by answering questions based on the books we provided them to read. Our schools in KwaThema competed fiercely and received prizes for their achievements. Gorogang Primary School, who were the winners of our competition, and received a gold trophy, school certificate, a floating trophy, and a cheque for R10 000 that went towards their school. The learners that participated also received gold medals and certificates. Sakhelwe Primary School came second and received a silver trophy, a school certificate, and silver medals and certificates for their participants; while Tsimong Primary School received a bronze trophy, a school certificate, and bronze medals and certificates for their participants.
