Women's Month Celebration 2025

Our Women’s Day celebration was a powerful reminder that when women are empowered, entire communities rise.

On 2 August 2025, we brought together women – mothers, daughters, and grandmothers – from KwaThema for a day of appreciation and empowerment, recognising and celebrating the impact that these women make in their communities every day.

Women's Month Celebration 2024

Masimong Foundation hosted a Women's Month Celebration at Riverside Country Estate for a group of ladies from Kwathema. These ladies are mothers to the learners on our Accounting, Mathematics and Science tutoring programme. Topics on the programme included mental health, hope and healing and basic first aid.

Women are less likely to seek treatment after experiencing symptoms of mental illness. This is due to “internalized or self-stigma” that results from their self-image being formed by how others perceive them. They're also more likely to have mental health conditions that are made worse by stress, such as depression or anxiety.

The purpose of this event was to encourage the ladies and remind them of their self-worth and the important roles they play in their families and the community. As women we sometimes tend to doubt ourselves and our abilities. We forget that as a gender we are unique and with that we bring unique qualities that vary from one woman to another. This great event aimed to remind women that their uniqueness needs to be celebrated and harnessed every day.
